My Scrappy Space

Hopefully, you arrived here from DeeDee's blog if you are on the Crop Chocolate Blog Hop! Welcome to my messy scrappy room. I tried and I tried to clean it up for the blog hop. Then I made one layout or one project and it was just as messy all over again. I figure reorganizing this will take all summer! So here is my messy scrappy room, in all it's glory!

This is a wooden cabinet, in it, I store all my old sizzix dies, my wizard, spellbinders dies, cuddlebug, etc etc etc.

These are the shelves that I store loose paper at. Not cardstock, not stacks, not kits... just loose paper.

In the back corner, is boxes of scrappy stuff that I need to go thru. It is loaded down with embellishments, etc. All stuff from the last time I arranged my scrappy room and really cleaned it.

This is the look from behind my scrapping tables. I look across the room, at my laptop and computer chair. I also have a lovely Mickey Mouse TV set that I inherited :)

This is one side of my scrappy area. For this section, I got this great idea and bought 2 of the same tables. Each table is supposed to sit 6 people. I love these tables! They are so big and spacious! I have baskets of stuff under them. Inside, peeking out you will see a make up bag ribbon holder that I made for a crop chocolate project.

Moving on over to the right, here is the area I usually work at. I have 4 draw sets under the table. They hold my ribbon and trims.

This used to be our kitchen table, when we were first married and living in Connecticut! Now, it is my drying area (when I can find a flat surface under there). Under the table, I have this awesome paper sorter that I bought from Staples. It holds all my 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. On the table, I have a bunch of hardware organizers, and then on the shelves, is where I store twine. I LOVE twine!

This is moving to the right, and this is where the kits go, and the solid cardstock. up top, there are paints and stuff.

Now, this is going behind my scrappy area.... the boxes need to be sorted still. They contain the more recent purchases. The bookshelf behind it, contains stacks of paper, and embellishments.
This is a better view of that area. We will not discuss the shed behind it... ok. Just pretend you did not see it in there.

This is probably the most organized area of my scrapping room. The punches are hanging in a shoe bag, on the back of the door (It is a second door to the laundry room, that I never use). On the wall, there is an old cassette tape holder of hubby's. It holds ink pads for me). On the floor, is my homemade clip it up. This holds my most used embellishments.

Like I said at the beginning, my room is messy. Oh well. The rest of my house is clean, and that is what matters! Now, follow my blog, and leave a comment, and I will draw a random winner on June 11th from those who left a comment. The prize? Making memories Dilly dally stamps and embellishment kit!

Now, once you are done here, hop on over to Karen's Blog and continue the crop chocolate blog hop!

Ditto what Mommyx2 said . . . glad I'm not the only one running out of space. BUT in my defense I switched rooms with dd and my "new" room is 1/2 the size of the "old" room. **sigh** The things I do for her. :) Anyway, love your space . . . makes me feel at home. And to me it looks like "organized" messy. Thanks for sharing with us!!!

I love the mess! This is how a scrap room is supposed to look - isn't it? LOL - Well, mine does the majority of the time. I find if everything is all neat and put away I have a hard time being creative. TYFS!

I love your scrapbook room! I'll come clean your scrapbook room if you'll come clean my house! That's part of my house's problem, I'd rather scrap than clean...oh, plus those 3 kids, 2 dogs, etc. etc. You gave me a laugh today! thanks!

I just want to say I *LOVE* your room...because it reminds me of my space (which isn't even a room), but MORE organized!! ;) Thanks for sharing!! :) Love how many slots are in the cassette holder, too!!

Had to laugh at pretending not to see the shed back there!! TOO FUNNY!!! ;)

Whoa that is a quite a collection of crafty goodness...looks like a great place to create...I love it! I love that you make no apologies and candidly describe/share the details and history of all of the elements. My favorite comments are about the shelves with "just loose paper" and of course the shed...hmmm. Thanks for letting us into your space :-).

Wow you have a lot of stuff, if I had that much stuff I think I would completely have no idea what I had lol (I struggle as it is)! But I know you create amazing work in that space! Is the shed full? I can picture a full library of paper on the inside of a shed like that, that would be cool!!

Moon Scraps! said...

Shhhhhhhh Kiwi...... You are exactly right.....It is full of other stuff. That is why I want everyone to ignore it LOL.

Heather said...

I don't think it's that messy either! You have so much stuff! Wow! For as much stuff as you have, I'd say it looks pretty organized!

I love the shoe bag idea for storing the punches! I also really like the old cassette tape storage for the inks. I hope I can find one (since I doubt that I will ever make the one Corrie had posted about, since I am too lazy!). I may have to butter dh up and ask him to make me a home made clip it up :) Thanks for all of your ideas and inspiration while on the DT!

Laura Cox {aka scrapaddict} said...

Messy....but you look like you are working on the organization well! And if you know where it is, that's what counts!!

CreationsByChar said...

You sure do have a lot of product! I think you just need a bigger space, like me. My space is currently the love seat! But if you can find what you need, that's what matters, right?

DeeMcD said...

I like the cassette holder for the inks. I might still have one stored in my basement. Thanks for the ideas.

It's nice to see that even us "scrapbook hoarders" can be organized! I like how you used your hubby's old cassette holder - i wonder if mine doesn't have one that I could obscound with! Also when I saw your shoe holder I remembered I have a wooden shoe holder that hangs on the wall (it's made up of squares), only mine is still in the box - I bet that could be a great scap organizer! Thanks for sharing your not really that messy scrap area!

Unknown said...

Jenn, I love the reality of your scrappy room - especially knowing what's going on in the midst of this hop. :)
